Lourdes Crescent, Summerhill, London

Site Specific

Following the success of the masterplan for Ballymun, David Prichard was commissioned by Dublin City Council to redevelop these 1950’s slab blocks. The new layout was negotiated with the residents and provides 58 homes with gardens and large
balconies.

The new south facing crescent focuses on Our Lady of Lourdes Church and creates a new tree-lined pocket park and playspace. The mix of home types is based on the current housing requirements of existing residents. These will include two, three, four, five and seven bed space homes. All houses have separate front doors off the street.

A separate four bay infill terrace completes the missing street frontage on Summerhill Terrace to the North.

The scheme has to be built in three phases to avoid decanting residents off site.
