Herberton, Dublin, Ireland

Regeneration, Next Generation

This is an urban renewal scheme for Dublin City Council using PPP funding and management principles. The area’s regeneration was triggered by the new LUAS light rail station which opened in 2004 and put city-wide leisure, retail and work opportunities within a few minutes ride.
A working collaboration with Anthony Reddy Associates in Dublin was set up developing the project’s sustainability agenda with Ecoco and producing the winning competitive bid in early 2004.

Subsequently the team’s proposal to revise the existing Masterplan improved permeability and integrated the new scheme into the neighboring communities. Within the new framework the team is currently designing two dense mixed-tenure residential city blocks accommodating 220 apartments over retail, leisure (gym & swimming pool), crèche and community facilities.
