Unlocking the Lower Lea Valley
The Lower Lea Valley is the largest regeneration opportunity within inner London and Metropolitan Workshop are currently developing a masterplan for the Ailsa Waterside site which has the potential to connect currently landlocked communities. The proposals include 830 new waterside homes and 20,000m 2 of mixed use non-residential space to form a sustainable community focus along the River Lea. Working with XCO2 and a comprehensive design team, we are exploring the opportunity of delivering a zero carbon development in line with the London Plan and the Mayors ambition for a pilot project in each London borough. Metropolitan Workshop is currently working with the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation, London boroughs of Tower Hamlets and Newham, local regeneration agencies and RSL’s to collaboratively deliver this exciting and sustainable development.
