Oslo meets Fjord

Metropolitan Workshop was selected to participate in this parallel commission as one of six teams together with Narud Stokke Wiig and Gross.Max

Filipstad is the place where Oslo meets the Fjord, with the same scale and mix of uses that characterizes the successful parts of inner Oslo. Filipstad will contain residential areas and schools, offices and businesses, even a harbour. The character of Oslo is continued as a city for all.

Filipstad has a unique location in the centre of Oslo and will be the largest new residential area in central Oslo.

Central to the scheme is a large new park. It will be a park unlike any other in Oslo and will provide much needed green space to a dense part of the city.
